Juventus vs Lazio, Preview: Twice in two weeks!

Lazio will be out to avenge a 4-0 Super Cup defeat when they travel to Turin to face Juventus in the pick of the Week 2 matches.

The Bianconeri have picked up from exactly where they left off last season. Fresh from defeating Lazio two weeks ago, Juve came away from a tricky game at Sampdoria 1-0 winners last weekend.

The visitors also managed to start their Serie A campaign with a victory, although Udinese made them work hard for a 2-1 victory.

Despite selling Alessandro Matri to AC Milan this week, Juventus still have plenty of attacking options available. New signing Fernando Llorente may have to settle for a place on the bench again as Antonio Conte continues with the forward pairing of Carlos Tevez and Mirko Vucinic. The Argentine has netted in his first two outings in a black and white shirt.

Conte isn't expected to make any changes to his winning side. Paul Pogba will continue to deputise for the injured Claudio Marchisio, while Stephan Lichtsteiner faces his former club.

Lorik Cana could feature for Lazio despite coming off at half time in the Udinese game. The Albanian escaped muscle damage and is available to renew a central defensive partnership with new signing Diego Novaretti. Czech striker Libor Kozak has surprisingly been left out of the matchday squad, which could be a clear indication that his future lies away from Rome. Miroslav Klose will lead the line for the Eagles, despite not scoring against Juventus in eight previous attempts.

Although Lazio got the better of their opponents over two legs in last season's Coppa Italia, Juventus have the more superior head-to-head league record. The Bianconeri have won six of the last nine league meetings in Turin, with the other three being draws. Lazio escaped this fixture last season with a 0-0 draw, thanks in part to a superb goalkeeping display by Federico Marchetti.
