Preview: Liverpool FC - Manchester United

Liverpool FC - Manchester United 01/09/2013

Liverpool and Manchester United face each other in the first of the big Sunday clashes of the Premier League.

Liverpool comes into this match after two wins in the first two games of the Premier League and if they win this one, they will break the tradition since 1994 without three consecutive wins at the start of the tournament. This match is the first serious test for the new team of Brendan Rogers, who has very high goals.

Last season Liverpool managed to record just a single victory (against Tottenham) against teams from the top six of the standings. This will have to change if the team wants to keep their chances of qualifying in the Champions League.

Crucial for the outcome of the meeting could be the key battle between Daniel Sturridge(2.50 or 6/4 to score) and Nemanja Vidic. The Liverpool striker makes impressive performance with 10 goals in his last 8 appearances for the team in all competitions. Another key player is Steven Gerrard(4.33 or 10/3 to score), who has scored 4 goals in their last 6 games against United.

Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 13 away matches in the Premier League - the longest series in the league. Usually, David Moyes finds it hard to beat Liverpool with former team Everton, having achieved only 3 wins from 22 games and none of them was at Anfield.

Robin van Persie(2.20 or 6/5 to score) has proved himself capable of scoring against this opponent by scoring 4 times in his last three matches against Liverpool - two for Man. United and two for Arsenal. Wayne Rooney madehis return to the starting lineup of the Reds in a goalless draw with Chelsea and he will be hungry for wins and goals.

We expect another exciting show from the Premier League, in which to witness a great competitions of coaching tactics and personal qualities of top players.
